Nathan’s 4th Birthday
Nathan’s favorite animal is the elephant, but every elephant themed kids’ party on the internet was cutesy/baby or Dumbo…so of course I had to make it modern and cool. I based the elephant off of our Oakland A’s mascot, Stomper, and kept everything in deeper shades of blue (Nathan’s favorite color). The elephant was also used on custom pins and sunglasses as favors. I built another table to go along with the lemonade stand from Emma’s birthday bakery, and we had another socially distanced party in our front yard. Guests were given a wooden box to fill with treats (homemade rice balls, cake balls, and confetti cookies / donut holes). It’s tradition that I make the kids a special birthday shirt each year, and this time I hand embroidered the elephant logo onto Nathan’s shirt. At the end of the day, Nathan went to sleep with a smile on his face and told me: “this was the best day ever.” These are the moments I live for.
